Defenshield, Inc. ("Defenshield") is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the lawsuit filed against First Choice Armor & Equipment, Inc. and D-Back Holdings, Inc. for infringement of Defenshield's U.S. Patent No 7,849,781 covering its Mobile Defensive Fighting Position (MDFP).
In a judgment issued on January 8, 2014, the Hon. Glenn T. Suddaby of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York ordered that:
First Choice Armor & Equipment, Inc. and D-Back Acquisition Co., their officers, agents, servants, employees, and attorneys, and all persons in active concert or participation with them who receive actual notice of this judgment by personal service or otherwise, are permanently restrained and enjoined from making, having made, selling, offering for sale, distributing, using, or importing into the United States products that infringe U.S. Patent No 7,849,781, including Defendants' product referred to the "Rolling Bunker," until the expiration of U.S. Patent No. 7,849,781
Defenshield's MDFP is designed to provide troops in hostile environments and entry control points with an area of maximum safety and full visibility. Collins White, President of Defenshield, remarked that "this is a significant victory for Defenshield and affirms that Defenshield is the leader in the design of innovative ballistic protection solutions."
Defenshield was founded in 2002 in response to the need to protect security personnel in airports after September 11, 2001. The ballistic shield produced to meet this need was the MDFP. Since then, Defenshield MDFP's have been deployed around the world and are saving the lives of a diverse range of customers including the U.S. Marines, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, U.S. Naval Observatory, in courthouses, at military bases, on ships, and at nuclear facilities.
