Defenshield Mobile Fighting Positions are saving lives in Iraq

September 13th, 2015

The II Marine Expeditionary Force has ordered additional DS-181-P mobile fighting positions for use during the upcoming Iraqi National Elections and Referendum. Similar units were deployed during the first Iraqi Government Elections in January.

“The Defenshield Mobile Fighting Positions (DS-181-P) are uniquely constructed to provide the protection Marines and Soldiers need in vulnerable locations, while providing excellent visibility of approaching gunmen. These Mobile Fighting Positions have already proven their ability to stop small arms fire while allowing personnel concealed behind them to engage enemy combatants, from a secure position, and eliminate the enemy threat. These items have saved the lives of several Marines that have been fired upon in this part of Iraq.” said Assistant Chief of Staff of Logistics, D.C. Hales, in a request for expedited shipment of the order.

Through a contract valued in excess of $450,000, Defenshield is providing a superior level of protection to US and Iraqi security forces, as well as the Iraqi public. These partitions, similar to other Defenshield units deployed by the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense and civilian agencies provide the highest level of protection in a mobile, stand-alone device.

Defenshield announces move to St. Augustine, FL

April 25th, 2014

After an extensive search for the new corporate headquarters of Defenshield its founder and CEO, Collins White, has announced St. Augustine, Florida will be the new home of the company.

Defenshield’s decision came after evaluating a number of cities in the southeast over the past 18 months which included Wilmington, NC, Charleston, SC, Savanah, GA, and Jacksonville, FL. St. Augustine’s business climate, less restrictive gun laws, and Florida’s climate were major factors in Defenshield’s decision.

“St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce was tremendously helpful in showing us the business benefits of their county, as well as their state, throughout the entire selection process”, said White. “The company is excited about this move and look forward to contributing to the continued success of commerce in Florida.”

Defenshield’s move to Florida is expected to take place over the next six to twelve months and will maintain an office of three to five employees in the Syracuse area until the transition is complete. The company is expecting to bring 15-20 jobs to St. Augustine.

We would like to give a special thanks to all of the support given from local businesses, government representation, and the communities both in New York and Florida during our transition.

In a judgment issued on January 8, 2014, the Hon. Glenn T. Suddaby of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York ordered that:

First Choice Armor & Equipment, Inc. and D-Back Acquisition Co., their officers, agents, servants, employees, and attorneys, and all persons in active concert or participation with them who receive actual notice of this judgment by personal service or otherwise, are permanently restrained and enjoined from making, having made, selling, offering for sale, distributing, using, or importing into the United States products that infringe U.S. Patent No 7,849,781, including Defendants’ product referred to the “Rolling Bunker,” until the expiration of U.S. Patent No. 7,849,781
