More Defenshield MDFP’s on their way to support US Marines in Iraq
September 11th, 2006
In a contract award valued in excess of $1.3M, I Marine Expeditionary Force this morning requested additional DS-192 MDFP’s to support operations in Iraq. This award brings the total of MDFP’s protecting and saving the lives of US and Iraqi security forces deployed in Iraq to over 400 units. Deliveries will begin in November and include the ATV mobility option developed especially for use on unimproved and rough surfaces.
The Defenshield MDFP units offer a level of protection that maximizes deterrence and minimizes the chances of attack in terrorist-prone regions of the world. Units are currently deployed at entry control points in various cities in Iraq, especially in the Green Zone. These partitions, similar to other Defenshield units deployed by the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense and private sector infrastructure facilities provide the highest level of protection in a mobile, stand-alone device.
“The more effectively our troops are protected, the faster they can complete their mission, stabilize Iraq and return home.” said Collins White, President of Defenshield. “The security provided by the MDFP’s allows our Soldiers and Marines to safely engage and defeat enemy forces.”
