Defenshield teams with the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office

Defenshield Inc. announces deployment of its DS-131 bullet, blast and fragment resistant partition for inclusion in the “Tools Of the Trade” display by the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office (OCSO) at the 2005 New York State Fair.
Through a partnership with the OCSO, and the “Good News for Good Guys” program, Defenshield supplied the DS-131 used at the trial of Lee Malvo (the DC Sniper) to the Sheriffs office for display at the New York State Fair. This partition is similar to other Defenshield units deployed by the Department of Justice, The Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense and civilian agencies providing the highest level of protection, in a mobile stand-alone device.
The Defenshield product line is certified up to NIJ Level III (assault rifles), NIJ Level IV (30-06 armor piercing), and is certified by the US State Department to Standard 01.01 for resistance to both 5.56mm and 7.62mm NATO rounds.
“Of course we modified the unit a bit to really draw the crowds.” said Collins White, President of Defenshield. The unit for display had been shot with several rounds of .44 magnum, and .40 caliber Smith & Wesson. “Defenshield is proud to be working with our local law enforcement. Deploying the highest level of protection to the federal agencies is important, but the needs of our local law enforcement community cannot be minimized.”
