Defenshield is a veteran-owned, SBA-certified small business specializing in the engineering and development of bullet, blast, and fragment resistant equipment for the government, military, law enforcement and private sector for anti-terror, force protection, and physical security requirements.
Brooks Thomas joined Defenshield in October 2012, bringing with him a wealth of his industry knowledge and an extensive understanding of NIJ Standards, ballistic material make-ups, and knowledge of ballistic and blast testing learned over the years.
Prior to joining Defenshield, Brooks was employed within the defense industry as a Ballistic Products Division Sales Manager where he spent time working with various aspects of Federal Government Agencies, Police Department and Military, both domestically and internationally. During that period, he gained valuable experience in Sales, Business Development, Product Development (both new and existing), along with marketing material development focused on ballistic products.
Brooks began working directly out of high school for the local newspaper in Fredericksburg, VA, while going to College and receiving his Associates Degree in Business Administration. Prior to entering into the Defense Industry, in the early part of his career, Brooks spent time in the building industry and assisted in running a family business, managing 15 rental properties.
Brooks is currently in the process of graduating from Bluefield College with his BA in Business Management & Leadership. As he finishes up his BA, Brooks spends his free time honing his shooting skills, snowboarding, traveling, managing his fantasy football team and feeding an interest in cars and motorcycles.
