Ballistic Protection Equipment for Nuclear Facilities

Our ballistically-certified physical security solutions provide head-to-toe protection on a mobile platform without looking out of place.

At Defenshield, we carry and engineer a wide variety of ballistic and non-ballistic equipment for sites in need of high-level security solutions at access control points. Read more about our security product details on this page to enhance your facility’s security with our ballistically certified units.

When you oversee operations at a nuclear power plant, one of your main priorities is often the safety of your workers and security team. At Defenshield, we make it possible to protect your personnel with a diverse product line of Mobile Defensive Fighting Position (MDFP) and SafePoint® security units. These are pieces of nuclear power plant physical security equipment that shield individuals from bullets while giving them the power to take defensive action against terroristic attacks.

These security units can get placed in high-risk areas, such as entry control points, where they will serve as shields and give the individuals who use them a full range of visibility and motion. We offer custom-sized products, many of which offer NIJ Level IV protection from ammunition traveling at speeds of up to 2900 feet per second.

Along with our selection of MDFP/SafePoint®, we offer many additional accessories and attachments to help further enhance safety. Our CamographyTM options allow you to request different materials and colors for your equipment that will suit your environment. Other accessories you may order include desk units with locking drawers, tow bars, MDFP bridge ports and more.

Security Solutions for Critical Infrastructure

Having a fully integrated security system in your nuclear facility is crucial when it comes to optimizing safety measures for your personnel and products. You need a power plant security barrier that can help you lower the risk in case of an intruder. Our Jersey Barrier and Guard Rail systems serve this purpose for nuclear power facilities and a variety of other industries.

These are ballistic resistant units that create safe places with complete visibility during an attack. The Barrier CapTM is the ideal solution for facilities in need of a high level of physical protection, and they prove useful at security checkpoints along with other high-risk areas.

Defenshield also carries Rail CapsTM which is a form of critical infrastructure physical security you can count on to prepare your security team and give them the advantage over potential threats. Your personnel will feel safer, and you will sleep more easily each night knowing you have the most effective safety system.

Entry Control Point and Security Barrier Safety

You have a variety of equipment integrated with your security system, but another challenge arises when you need to make use of your safety measures. How will you or an operative alert the appropriate parties when a potential threat or emergency appears? In addition to Defenshield’s inventory of ballistically certified equipment, we also sell multiple acoustic devices that can play a major part in securing your facility.

As part of our array of security solutions, we carry LRAD® Corporation acoustic devices that can reach people at short and long distances if a threat occurs. The longest range device reaches up to 153 decibels. These products serve as reliable security tools due to their ability to warn personnel of impending threats from nearly anywhere in the facility.

With the help of this equipment, your security team can receive information about threats and act on it immediately. This gives them time to move forward with proper security policies while potentially saving more lives and neutralizing the situation quickly. With a maximum range of over 3,000 meters, acoustic devices are invaluable security assets you can integrate with your safety planning.
